Geç gelen rüzğar dedim çünkü hemcinsleri çoktan malı ortaya koyup son kullanıcıya ulaştırdı. Fakat Panasonic geç olsun güç olmasın mantığı ile 4×4 lük bir ürün ortaya çıkartmış.  10.1 megapixel CCD sensör, 27 mm geniş açıya sahip  ünlü Leica 18x optik zoom lens (27-486 mm. 35mm film eşdeğeri), 1280×720 pixel HD video kaydı,  2,7″ LCD ekran gibi özelliklerin yanısıra 100 ASA dan extra modları ile 6400 ASA ya  kadar çekim performansı . Tüm bu özellikler bir üst çıtadaki D-SLR ürünlere erieşemeyen yarı profesyonel kullanıcıların ağzını sulandıracak cinsten. Tahminen Eylül Ekim aylarında ülkemizde satın alınabilir durumda olacak olan DMC-FZ8  330 sterlin olarak yurtdışında fiyatlandırılmış.
